Job specification

Senior AV Manager (maternity cover)

Who we are

We exist because we saw a gap in the market. A gap between ideas and measurement. Anyone can have a good idea, but they don’t necessarily know how to measure it. Conversely, just because you can measure things, it’s no guarantee you can have good ideas. Well, we do both.

We’re the free-thinking media agency for brands with big plans. We enhance reach, reputation, and revenue by giving every client the best in Heart, Art and Science, which means going the extra mile to understand their world and collaborating to create market-leading strategies, anchored in intelligent data. And because we’re independent, we enjoy the freedom to work with clients we love, in ways that work best for both of us. Because great relationships drive better results.

We’re a team of creative thinkers, professional doers and clever data people, all obsessed with delivering measurable outcomes. With a team of over 90 media specialists and growing, The Kite Factory has seen exponential growth, celebrated award-winning work, and welcomed multiple new clients in recent years, including WhiteClaw, Crisis, Skin+Me, Anthony Nolan and Sekonda. We are also proud to be ranked as one of Campaign’s Best Places to Work, as well as holding IPA Platinum status for our dedication to learning and development.

What we are looking for

We are looking for a Senior AV Manager for a period of 12 months starting in early August. You will report directly into an Account Director and be responsible for overseeing a team of 2-3, being the day-to-day AV lead on a number of important accounts within the agency.

As an independent agency we pride ourselves on delivering bespoke AV planning for our clients, always going above and beyond the brief to drive meaningful business change. The successful candidate will be a true AV advocate, someone who understands the role the channel plays in overall media strategy.

We’re looking for a team player who is equally happy leading and overseeing a team as they are getting stuck in to the day-to-day, whilst also being someone who can help ensure we are always driving our AV proposition forward and future-proofing ourselves as the marketplace develops.

Your role

As a Senior AV Manager you will lead by example to put data at the heart of the planning process, helping deliver best in class AV plans and delivery for clients every month. The day-to-day role will encompass overseeing day to day delivery of AV planning and buying, ensuring campaigns are tightly controlled relative to client KPIs. A thorough knowledge of planning is required as supporting the AD in this function is also expected.

Reporting into an AD you will oversee planning and delivery of monthly AV campaigns, working closely with our contacts at the saleshouses to ensure controlled delivery of ratings/impacts, quality and cost metrics.

As a data-led team you will also be expected to play a lead role in post-campaign and quarterly reporting, using in-house tools as well as 3rd party systems (such as Adalyser) to provide clients with robust, meaningful insights into performance and recommendations as to how our planning and buying can evolve.

Skills and experience

The successful candidate will:

  • Have demonstrable UK AV/TV planning and buying team
  • Be able to demonstrate a proven track record of successfully planning and buying multiple TV/AV campaigns
  • Have experience of both brand and DRTV planning and/or buying. Charity experience would be a plus but is not essential
  • Be able to demonstrate confidence and proficiency in analysing standard TV/AV data sets (i.e attributed traffic, sales, ROI) and their use in post-campaign reporting
  • Be a confident and articulate presenter
  • Have DDS proficiency. Knowledge of other tools (Techedge, Adalyser, Touchpoints) a plus
  • Be confident in the more nuanced aspects of Excel (i.e Pivot Tables, lookup formulas)

Our culture

All voices are heard and listened to, and we’ve worked hard to build and live by our values, which are: Think Freely, Aim Higher, Stay Smart, Get Involved and Win Together.

Our biggest asset is our people and the rapport they build with each other. To cement those relationships and create a supportive and inclusive culture we have several committees anyone can join including Social, Diversity & Inclusion and Environmental Impact.
